Samsung’s A series is quite popular in India. Especially it is very much liked at offline stores. These are all-rounder phones that not only style but also attract a lot of users with their rough and tough features. Recently the company launched Samsung Galaxy A73 in India. This phone is an upgraded model of the Galaxy A72 launched last year. Although it is often seen that in the name of the upgrade, companies call it an upgrade by giving one or two new features, you will not get this in Galaxy A73. The company has changed a lot. However, you must have a question how is this change? Has the phone performance improved and deserves an upgrade or has it been downgraded more than before?
Design
First of all, I will say about Samsung Galaxy A73 that after seeing it, you will definitely feel like taking the phone in hand. Its body is made of a metal frame but the back panel is of polycarbonate plastic. Although the quality is very good. The panel of the phone is in a matte finish and due to this, it does not slip from the hands. Earlier, where Samsung phones were slightly curved from the side. That’s where the box design is this time. In this way, you feel new. It is also quite slim and a little lighter than the bulky phones of today. Its weight is 181 grams. In such a situation, it not only gives a lot of comfort to the hands but also gives a better feeling when holding its body. The phone is available in three colors – Awesome Mint, Awesome Gray, and Awesome White in India. A lot of people will love Awesome Mint.
Looking at the hardware buttons and ports, the company has given volume and power buttons on the right side of the phone. There will be a SIM card slot on the top and a loudspeaker grill and USB Type-C port at the bottom. A dual card slot has been given in the phone where the second slot is hybrid.
In terms of design, the phone is quite good but it can be said that it would have been better if it had a glass body at this price. There is also a lack of a 3.5mm audio jack. But the IP67 rating overcomes these shortcomings. That is, the phone has a lot of water and dust barrier. This phone can stay in 1 meter of water for 30 minutes.
Display
Whenever there is talk of Samsung phones, people talk a lot about the display and there will definitely be talk about the display of the Galaxy A73. The display of the phone is quite good. In this, you will get to see the center punch-hole display which is quite small. The company has given a 6.7-inch screen which comes with 1080 x 2400 pixel resolution i.e. HD + resolution. At the same time, the protection of Corning Gorilla Glass v5 has been given for screen protection. As it is seen that with the A-series, the company also presents its flagship features, in this too you will get to see a screen with a 120 refresh rate. Although the most important thing that can be said is that the company has used a Super AMOLED Plus display.
The good thing can be said that the peak brightness of the phone is 800 nits. In this way, you will be able to get a clear view even in bright light. The good thing can be said that if you stream OTT service then you are going to like this phone a lot. Because of this, you can stream HDR content from apps like Netflix. The display of this phone is quite crisp and the bezel is very less. In such a situation, full view is enjoyed and you will be able to enjoy video and gaming well. We did not find any shortcomings in terms of display.
Performance
In this segment, you can call the Samsung Galaxy A73 a little ordinary. The company has introduced it with Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G processor. Although this processor is very good in terms of performance, in this budget, phones with even the best processors are available. Rather, Samsung’s own M series phone comes with this processor on a budget of Rs 25000. In such a situation, users are definitely disappointed here. Built on 6nm fabrication, you will get a 20.4 GHz octa-core processor in this phone which is built on Kryo architecture. Along with this, Adreno 642L GPU will be available for graphics. It is supported with 8GB, LPDDR4X RAM. The phone has RAM Plus support where you will be able to use up to 8GB of virtual RAM. That is, you get a total of 16GB of RAM support. In this case, you will not get any complaints about performance.
Talking about the performance, let me tell you that in our benchmark test, it was able to score 5,30,293 on Ntutu. On the graphics benchmark GFX, it went up to a score of 4,278 at 69 frames on Manhattan and 6089 on 109 frames on Trex. Similarly, I ran my Geekbench for CPU performance, and there it was able to score 725 on single-core and 2,796 on multi-core. Overall, it is good for this budget but many phones are available with flagship-grade performance and at the same time it lags behind.
However, one thing for which I would like to brag about it that is the gaming performance. We played the game for more than half an hour and we didn’t notice any frame drop or lag. There was also no problem with heating. Talking about storage, the company has introduced it with 128GB and 256GB. You will get to see memory card support.
Cameras
Samsung Galaxy A73 5G will definitely impress you with the camera. Today the trend is being seen that companies are launching the phone only with dual or triple cameras but Samsung has not skimped here and you will get a 108MP main camera in the phone which comes with an f/1.8 aperture. At the same time, there is a 12 MP ultra-wide-angle lens which was introduced with an f / 2.2 aperture. The third lens and the fourth lens are 5 MP, which is given for Macro and Depth. Both these lenses are of f/2.4 aperture.
With big megapixels, the company has equipped it with features like OIS and VDIS. OIS will not only provide better stabilization while clicking pictures but also does a much better job in night photography. At the same time, VDIS helps you in good stabilization during video shooting.
Talking about the picture quality, the photo was clicking in full detailing. But there was a slight overexposure. Although it is HDR with the camera, the photos were getting slightly overexposed in bright light. The color combinations were very good and the portrait photo was taken very well.
Talking about the video, you will also like the portrait video. But I really like Samsung’s slow-motion video and it was great in this too.
Along with the rear, the front camera of the phone will also impress you a lot. The company has introduced it with a 32 MP camera which is f / 2.2 aperture and wide-angle support has been given along with a single camera. In the front, you get portrait mode and it is quite impressive. The best thing about this Samsung phone can be said that it maintains the skin tone very well. You get a 4K recording on both the front and back of the phone.
Battery and Connectivity
You have been given a 5000 mAh battery in the Samsung Galaxy A73 5G. The best part is that despite the big battery, the company has maintained the weight of the phone a lot. This phone has fast charging support of up to 25W but the company has not given a charger with the phone. You’ll only get a USB Type-C cable. As far as the battery is concerned, it is quite good. On the PC Mark test, this phone was able to survive for more than twelve and a half hours, which would be called a very good score.
You will get dual sim support in Samsung Galaxy A73 5G. This phone has dual 5G support with dual 4G and you can take advantage of 5G in both the slots. At the same time, the company has supported dual-band WiFi in it and you can use fast 5 GHz WiFi. At the same time, you get the support of Bluetooth 5.0 in this.
Conclusion
After seeing everything, the conclusion is that the price of the Samsung Galaxy A73 5G in India is Rs 41,999. If you only talk about processors and gaming, then at this price this phone can be called a bit expensive. But if you talk about the look, camera, and design of the overall phone, then you can take this phone. Lightweight and stylish look, big battery, and great camera along with OIS and water and dustproof IP rating make it stand out from others.
